At the doctor's in Verona
After a bike ride, you arrive at the surgery with a bright red face.
Watch the video, 54 secondsBuongiorno. Allora, mi racconti: che cosa è successo?
Hello. So, tell me what happened.
Ieri ho fatto un giro in bici in Valpolicella. Faceva caldissimo, e a un certo punto mi è girata la testa.
Yesterday I went cycling in Valpolicella. It was very hot, and at one point I felt dizzy.
Ha bevuto abbastanza durante il giro?
Did you drink enough during the ride?
Your turn.
Pause and explain that you stopped several times on the way.
E lì che cosa bevevate, acqua?
And what were you drinking there, water?
Beh… soprattutto Amarone.
Well... mostly Amarone.
Allora non era solo il caldo. Anche l’Amarone ci ha messo lo zampino!
Then it was not just the heat. Amarone had a hand in it too!
Mi è girata la testa means "I felt dizzy."
A un certo punto mi è girata la testa.
At one point I felt dizzy.
Tip
Ci ha messo lo zampino means "had a hand in it." Here, the culprit is wine.
What would you have told the doctor? Answer in Italian in the comments.
