Lunedì è tornata al negozio, piuttosto arrabbiata:
On Monday she went back to the shop, rather angry:
«Le ho messe una volta sola e si sono già rotte!»
"I only wore them once and they have already broken!"
La commessa l’ha guardata, sinceramente stupita:
The sales assistant looked at her, genuinely surprised:
«Signora… ma ci ha camminato?»
"Madam... you actually walked in them?"
Imperfetto sets the scene. Passato prossimo tells what happened.
Mentre attraversava la piazza, si è rotto un tacco.
As she was crossing the square, a heel broke.
