Lundi matin, Clara veut un kouglof. Mais la boulangerie est fermée.

On Monday morning, Clara wants a kouglof cake. But the bakery is closed.

Un monsieur passe, avec une baguette.

« Pardon, monsieur, pourquoi c’est fermé ? »

"Excuse me, why is it closed?"

« La boulangerie est fermée le lundi. »

"The bakery is closed on Mondays."

« Ah bon ? Et vous, vous travaillez le lundi ? »

"Really? Do you work on Mondays?"

« Moi ? Non. Je suis le boulanger ! »

"Me? No. I’m the baker!"

Le lundi means on Mondays. Lundi means on a particular Monday.

Lundi, je suis à Strasbourg. Le lundi, la boulangerie est fermée.

On Monday, I’m in Strasbourg. On Mondays, the bakery is closed.
